The tank was fishless cycled for 7 weeks. Fish have been in a little over a week. All fish are acting normally, very very active and feeding. I noticed symptoms today - all fish were fine yesterday.

Tank size: 90l
pH:8
ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:20
kH: hard
gH:
tank temp: 26 degrees

Fish Symptoms: White spot on the platies - only one spot on approx 5 of the fish and one platy with a popping eye.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: I changed 80% water yesterday.

Inhabitants are

10x Platy
8 x leopard cory (all healthy as far as I can see)
3x blur dwarf gouramis ( 2 female 1 male) all in good health.

I have King British White spot treatment - not sure what to do. Can cory's tolerate it????

Cannot believe this is happening. Please advise on if I can use this treatment with the species I have in my tank - if not who should I remove.

I have a Fluval U filter - do I need to remove any part of the filter (please speak to me like I am an idiot because I am still a newbie really).

Thank you

I wrote on your other thread and I think you are good to go. Good luck!

Well today the tank is due for another dose - the white spots spread yesterday to more on the platy tails. However - today many spots have dropped off so I am doing a 50% Water change today and re-dosing the tank.

Hopefully this means the new dose will kill the spores that have dropped off?

New spots doesn't have to mean that they are worse. Ich can be on their gills and body for a bit before swelling into a spot. As long as they don't seem incredibly worse, I wouldn't worry yet.

The treatment in the water will knock out the ones that have dropped off. A gravel vac will always suck up some of them during your water change.

Thank Fish fanatic - all changed and fish are happy. I have slowly upped the temp to 29 but I think that is as high as my cories will tolerate. I guess tomorrow will tell

I still have another platy in another isolation because he was being aggressive and had a larger eye that look vaguely like it is 'popping' out. I has not got worse at all if not a bit better over the last 2 days. I guess he may have hurt it when being aggressive? No fungus as far as I can see but do not want him in my main tank so unsure what to do with him :/
