White Markings On Plec

Hi guys, new to the forum so firstly Hi,

I have recently transported a plec to a new house and have noticed today some white marks on him that I hadnt noticed before.

Would love any advice from anyone.

if he has just been recently moved u will probably find its just stress marks they tend 2 be quite common and probably will settle down with a few days or so

Probably right on the stress but beware if it starts to look a little like cotton wool then it could be white spot but monitor it for a day or 2 as you don't want to go adding any treatments unless you need to.

Common plecs often appear to shed their skin!! Its very wierd

do they really? it does look like similar to when a snake shreds its skin!

Yeh, every couple of months or so, my plec would look "funny". I know its not shedding skin, but it was the closest thing I could compare it to!

Never knew plecs shed there skin.
Make sure its not bleaching beneath the skin as that can be columnaris.
Also make sure he's not flicking and rubbing himself on things in the tank.

No, they don't actually shed - it just looks similar.
