i was at my lfs and was thinking of getting a sucking buddy for my brislenose,
i came across the regular and irregular sucky catfish called the whiptail catfish, can any1 fill me in,
i also saw another pleco but this one was all black and had white spots over its body -
can any1 give me some info on these?

I had one of these about 2.5 years ago. I didn't even know what it was till about 3 months ago when I saw it in a book. I've been looking for another one since I lost the last one. But the place that sold them doesn't carry them anymore and neither does any other place around here. But anyway why are great little guys to have. Just be aware that the number one cause of death for them is starvation. They eat alot more then you'd think. I've even been told that they will stick their nose out of the water if your water quality it bad. I don't know if that's true or not. I actually saw mine do that once. They get to be about 5'' long. They like algae, and white worms. They like the temp at 70-82f and are good for community settings. The latin name is Farlowella Acus
