Hi there,

I have currently got a bi-orb, but have wanted a 'proper' tank for a long time, so I am getting one for my 40th birthday. The thing is I am needing some opinions on which one to get, I am thinking either the Juwel vision 180, or the Fluval vincenza 180. Any advice would be greatly received. I am wanting a tropical set up.

I think it's often down to personal choice. If the tanks are the same size and come with similar equipment it's really down to your personal preference. I thought the Juwel tanks came with the internal filter built in which I wouldn't use. I believe you can remove it but I prefer external filtration.

You can remove the juwel internal filters and I myself would remove them. There quite rubbish in my eyes.

But fluval make some solid tanks, Like Tizer said though it depends on your budget.

I have found both of these tanks for the same price roughly £450, www.seapets.co.uk

ok, so looking at them again, the fluval comes with an external filter. What are the advantages of that? http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/latest-products/fluval-vicenza-180-aquarium-and-cabinet-black-titanium-and-zebrano.html
looks like a good deal to me, I'm interested to know what you think.
Like I say I am a bit of a novice. Luckily there is quite a good aquarium centre close by that will test the water for free and give advice. I just need a starting point, and obviously this shop would want to be pushing their products. They sell there for a lot more money.

having had both I much prefer the external. You have much more filter media than you do in an internal one. I find it easier to clean the external too.
