I've got money burning a hole in my pocket, and not sure what additions to make to my tank (i dont think i'm over stocked at present, but please tell me if i am ((see signature)). I'ts a 125 Litre tank which has quite a few real plants and i dont have any problems with water parameters (i.e. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, nitrate 10-20ppm, pH 7.8. Ideally i'd like something a little larger than whats already in the tank, any one got any ideas as i'm still abit of a newbie (God i hate that expression) :/

A single gouramie--not a dwarf, but a blue-spot color morph--would go nicely. Or a betta or paradise fish--something that will be happy by itself, but ge a bit larger and more a centerpiece fish would be nice. I wouldn't try adding anything that will want chums, since they would push you over the top, especially once all the fish mature.

I'd bring the danios up to at least 6
I.E. maybe get 2 leopards or 2 golden zebras

You could also have 6 white cloud mountain minnows with you current occupants
and a couple more ottos

Thats amazing - a was thinking about getting some more danios,as at the moment one of them seems to be getting quite agressive and i have read (somwhere) that if there are more they might settle down. And also i was thinking about getting one or two guorammies (spelling!) but wasn't sure which.

Just be careful when adding more fish.
Messy fish like plecos will bring your nitrates up alot.
You want to keep it below 20ppm for sure.
If your nitrates do go up you might want to increase the frequency of water changes to keep it down.

Would adding more corries make my 2 at the moment more adventurous because at the moment i hardly ever see them ( the only time i get to see them is if i suddenly go in the room and turn the light on, at which point they scurry about trying to find somewhere to hide. :/

cories are shoal fish which means ideally they should be kept in a group of six.

other things which might affect them are light - they dont like light, try to provide lots of broad leaved plants to give them shade - and substrate. they seem to be more active with sand or fine gravel, than with large gravel.

Thanks cluttery - I do have lots of places where they can hide and i do have a sand substrate, but if i get some more corries does it matter if they are the same. for instance could i get a couple of peppered or albino corries, and will they still get along ?

they shoal visually ie they go with others of the same pattern. however if there are no others of the same species, they will shoal with cories of a different species - but if there was a substantial group of each of two species, they would probably stay with tehir own kind.

what I'm trying to say :D is that two more julii would be optimal, but two of any kind would be ok. I don't even know if it has an adverse affect on them to have shoalmates of different species, so do what you feel like. :)

gouramis are usually group fish that perfer to be in pairs or more, like the more the merrier, but not all gouramis get along, so it's good to get a matching pair, or see which ones get along the best, cause theres lots of different kinds of gouramis :D :D :D

Don't get a clown pleco, they barely eat algae or come out :( Not a winning combo  I say get a Colisa fasciata. It's called a giant gourami ( :dunno: )although it only gets to about 4 inches. Search it on google to get pics :D
