Hi guys, I am looking for advice on Plecs please! I have a 90litre (uk) tank , with live plants, a gravel substrate and at the minute it houses 4 Zebra Danios, 4 cherry barbs and 4 Panda Corys. Temp is a steady 24 and ph 7-7.5. I know the crucial thing is that it is only 90 litre so I ask is there a Plec that would suit my set up??

I think one of the smallest ones ive seen thats fairly available where i live (Ct, USA) is the bulldog/rubberlip pleco. I believe they get like 3-4 inches. Otherwise your next choice around here is Bristlenose pleco which is 5-6inches. Sadly the most available pleco around here is a common pleco but stay away from them they get 2 feet!!! You could order offline but obviously the rarer they get the more they cost. Theres also Clown plecos but ive heard they get aggressive and dont eat algae if thats what youre going for.

Yeah, was tempted by the Clown as they apparently don't get too big, algae eating would be a big part of why I would get one though so I really need to do some research on these.

There are other species (Actually i think theres only one species) that get alot smaller and eat algae as well. The otocinclus gets no bigger than 3 inches and are community fish. I had two until they died from bullying by my red tailed shark and now im stuck with a mistaken fish. I ordered 3 otocinclus and got 2 otos and one CAE. And i liked the otos better :(

well your limit would be the BN pleco, a relative small pleco in my eyes only grows to a max of around 12cm, and i play to house one of these in my new 88L tank in the future you could possible get 2 into it if the bioload can handle it wonderful fish not as fancy as the others and not as expensive i find :)
