The plastic ones that you can attach to the side of your aquarium magnetically and plant marginal plants into? I don't even know their proper name so no idea where to start looking, or if they are, in fact, something else that just functions as a plant pot...

Any help appreciated! :hyper: :good:

you could try something like this Cazzie, you'll struggle to find the planters in the UK

Yes those were the things I had in mind... :good:

Are they strong enough to hold a plant?

Edit: presumably they must be if someone else has already used them...

yes they will hold...Aaron North also used them a while back (not the same ones?). I'm unsure which ones he used. There was talk about having the kits at TGM, i have had a look but cannot find them. If you don't want to make your own, email Jim at The Green Machine, he's a nice bloke, he'll sort you out. :good:

Yes I saw the ones he was using in the riparium... from what I could tell though, those were magnetic rather than having suction cups.

I don't even know for sure that I want marginal plants... just exploring options! :good:

Yup, they're what I use too. They're a bit variable in strength but generally strong enough to hold a medium sized houseplant filled with hydroton, although they do tend to slide down if the water level drops. The posh magnetic planters you need to order from a guy called 'hydrophyte' in the states.
