Where is everyone from?

The forum was started way back by someone who lived in the UK. Back then UK members were the largest group.

Yes I think you are Barry Tetra.

I have always wanted to go to Australia. @Colin_T, how was it like down there before COVID-19? (I’ve always wanted to see the Great Barrier Reef)

You can go to Queensland and see the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) or you can come to Western Australia and visit Ningaloo Reef. They have similar things and Ningaloo is nowhere near as commercialised as the GBR, and it's a lot cheaper then the GBR.
Ningaloo has more whale sharks.

There is coral reef up and down the west and east coast of Australia, as well as across the top. But there are chocodiles up north so you don't go in the water up there.

If you want really nice coral reef, go off the east coast of Papua New Guinea. They have some of the most pristine reefs in the world and the water is crystal clear for hundreds of meters.

Can you Scuba Dive there?

You can snorkel and scuba dive at all 3 places (GBR, Ningaloo and PNG).

Ningaloo comes straight off the beach and is becoming quite popular with families because there are dolphins that come to shore to be fed. It's also quite calm there and kids can snorkel over the reef in 3 feet of water.

The families and tourists are encouraged to Ningaloo, but the locals go a bit further north or south of the hot spots and there are the same reefs but without as many people.

Sweet, I might have to go there one day when I win the lottery!

The US dollar is nearly worth double the Australian dollar so you might be able to after the virus is over.
