can anyone tell me a stockist that has the following plecs in stock in the south of England??

Butterfly Pleco (L168)

Leopard Pleco (L134)

Snowball Pleco (L102)

I have searched all stockists in my local area (High Wycombe) and none of them can get these for a looonnngggg time!!

Have a look at TRIMAR aquatics website, if they have them then they do mail order and will be able to send them to you.

Ive used trimar a few times and find their service excellent

Thanks for the advice;

I have 3 maidenhead aquatics near me (including the original one  ), they are the people who can get them but not for ages!!??

I have just had a look at the web site and they do not have the ones I want, although I have seen other now that I want from them (one which is £90!!).

Looks like my wages will be going on plec next month then.....rent can wait!!

Any other ideas

Losi,

Just had a look on Tri-Mar and they seem to have two of the one you want under different names but same L number.

PECKOLTIA PULCHER L168 25.00

ZEBRA TAPAJOS L 134 25.00 Small
ZEBRA TAPAJOS L 134 32.50 L - XL

Might be worth dropping Monty an e-mail or give the shop a ring to check that they are the ones you are after. Also if they haven't got them in stock they will be able to give you a REALISTIC idea of whether they will be able to get them.

I have used Tri-Mar on several occasions and (as CFC says) the service and quality of the fish has always been excellent.

Cheers, Eddie

Cheers Eddie, i will give them a bell this afternoon.

I must admit I am a bit dubious about mail order fish. Do they courier them themselves or use parcelforce etc??

They use a normal courier company - ANC I think - but they have a good relationship with them. Tri-Mar double bagg the fish, insulate the bags with newspaper and put the whole lot into a styrofoam box with a heat pack. This is then put in a cardboard box with lots of live fish, keep warm labels. ANC then come and pick up the shipment and take it to a central depot. I think all of their depots have special areas to keep these types of boxes rather than just in the main warehouse. The delivery will be made to you before midday - I have had three deliveries turn up before 8:30am.

Never had any problems with the deliveries - all fish correct and excellent quality, all alive. You do need to take a little more time acclimatising the fish than you would with fish from the LFS as they have been in darkness for getting on for 24 hours. Open the box up in subdued lighting, make sure the tank lights are off. There will be a guide in the box to advise on how to add the fish. Leave the lights off for the rest of the day to allow the fish to find out about their new surroundings.

Other than that, it is the same as getting fish from an LFS without having to leave the comfort of your own tank, I mean home.....

Cheers, Eddie
