When to clear algae?

Hi all. I just want to check if alage should only be cleared of the glass on water change day or can it be done anytime?

Should be fine at all times

Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before scraping algae, you dont want any residue from oils/sanitizer etc.

It can be done at any point, I do it just before I water change (weekly) and some of the now free floating algae gets sucked away.
