What Would You Do With A 50Gl?

  So I'm inheriting an empty 50g long tank. Probably going to be low tech sand substrate. Cories and gourami will most likely be in the picture. I have to go back to the LFS and see what they've got in stock too see what I'd ultimately be able to stock, cycle the tank, ext so I have some time. To get some idea's I'd like some of yours.
 
 

  What kind of fish would you stock?

Centerpiece fish: 1-2 gourami or smaller cichlid e.g keyhole cichlids
Grouping fish: 3-6 live bearers e.g platys
Schooling fish: 7-9 tetras e.g silvertip
Bottom fish: 4-7 cories e.g sterbai or 3-5 smaller loaches e.g Pakistani loaches
Algae control- smaller plecostomus e.g bristlenose.

Khuli loaches, harlequin rasbora, and sparkling gourami.
Sand substrate, and gobs of crypts.

I went asian as am currently doing a 55gal. With the plan of 8-10 cory, a pair of bolivian rams, a pair of angels, 8-10 marbled hatchets, and a few ottos if needed.
Sand substrate, swords and other S.A. plants.
