Hi everyone,

As title what is the best thing to use to anchor down plants? using lead strips seems unsafe to me

what substrate have you got?

JBL do some little plastic planters, but they are about £4 for 8, which is quite expensive for what they are IMO

Deeper substrate is your best option, wrapping things around the bottom of plants such a lead can just cause damage them and stunt growth.

I am using fine gravel as a substrate and it is a about 3 inches deep.

Do you by any chance have a link for the JBL planters please?

3" should be deep enough? what plants are you trying to grow?

Hi, I have ordered 50 mixed plants from ebay, I am not to bothered what they are as I am only just starting out with plants.
Once I get a hang of it all I will more than likley fill the tank with plants that I like the look of but at the moment I just want to get the plants in the tank.

I have Excel and TPN+ which I will dose daily so hopefully the plants should grow slowly.

What size is your tank? What lighting do you have? You should find you dont need anything to anchor them down in 3" deep substrate.
