hi new to forum but need some advice,
going to keep rainbow fish but cannot find the tank i want,i need some suggestions on tanks that members have bought and find really good,
i have looked at juwel 180 but dont fancy taking out the filter and replacing it with an external,i like the look of the aqua one 980 but
heard reports of some of these tanks cracking, what i really want is a tank 30-40 gallon with stand and lights,so i can fit my own filter,i have searched the web for weeks but just cannot find what i want,so any suggestions with make and price and shop where to buy from would be great,
i live in birmingham
thanks all

Aqua one are nice tanks...I have 3 at home...a 850 (I think it is) about 45 gallons I think; a 500 (about 16 gallons) and a 320 (7.5 gallons).

Why would you need to take the filter out of the Jewel tank?

I think it looks ugly and been told it can be noisy

hi,
do you find the maintenance on your aquas easy and are they easy and inexpensive to replace filters etc?

Whats wrong with getting the juwel 180 and taking the filter out? it took me 5 minutes to get it out, its not particularly hard.

I have a juwel rio 125 with an eheim 2217, great tanks

Fair enough, at the end of the day you want something that you like the look of

hi,

The aqua one tanks are fairly easy to get parts for as most of the shops close to me stock their parts. I've not had to replace anything yet; although I do think I bought new carbon for my big tank and it was about £8 but I wouldn't be replacing the whole lot at once so it's not that expensive.

For the two smaller thanks they have intenral filters so nice and easy to clean and remove.

THe bigger tank has a built in filter above the tank and it's extremelly easy to get into and replace.

Aqua one do a 620 tank (not sure on size but I think it may be 20-25 gallons, you'd have to check it out) and that had a built in filter too; it seems easy enough.

At the end of the day every filter is noisy; you just don't want something excessively noisy. All of my filters are reasonably quiet.

I would actually say the juwel internals are one of the quietest I've come across, before I took mine out you could never hear it running it was basically silent, on several occassions I had to place my hand in the tank to check it hadnt stopped. I agree on the fact they look a little ugly and clog up the corner of the tank which is the reason I removed mine

There's a couple of sellers on ebay who have a Fluval Roma 200, with stand and external 305 filter, well there were when I looked a few months ago before I got my tank.
