I bought a freshwater puffer fish for my brackish tank the other day.

I know he won't eat flake food. So I bought some frozen brine shrimp. I can't tell if he's been eating that either.

So I bought some brine shrimp that I can hatch. They haven't hatched yet.

Any other ideas of what I can feed him?

Snails. Puffers apparently love snails :) Also snails are good for their teeth I believe!

What kind of snails? They would have to be pretty small, because my puffer is only about an inch and a half right now.

And how do you get sails out of the pet store bag and into your tank? I've never bought snails before and this always had me wondering.

Get some plants and make sure you get ones with snails on them :) You can buy applesnails but it will become expensive they are sure to give you FREE the snails in the plant tank just ask for some when you buy some other things.

Puffers love earthworms. Don't worry about the size of the food. Puffers have strong jaws, large teeth, and love tearing food into pieces.
