Hi!

I'm not sure what to feed my 3 clown loaches. I've had them over a week now and have given flakes, shrimp pellets, algae wafers. They don't seem to care for the flakes and i don't want to give them the same thing every day. They are very small as well. What do you guys feed your little guys?

thanks

"Prepared foods such as vegetable flakes or tablets along with meaty supplements such as live, frozen, or freeze-dried worms will provide this species with the proper nutrition."

From liveaquaria.com.

cucumber? awesome. will it sink or do I need to attach it to something?
I also have some frozen brime shrimp that I feed my gups once in awhile and they go crazy for it.

Just cut a chunk of it,I bought the lead weights just sank it they go wild on it.

Lead weights? I don't think that is the type of metal you want to put in your tank there are tones of other types of weights at your local walmart or other stores fishing department

I feed my Clowns lots of different foods Cucumber, courgette, pellets, algae disc's, Frozen krill, sweet corn, And Frozen brine shrimp which they go nuts for.
If you really dont want to feed them lots of different types of food stick with something that has high amounts of shrimp or krill in it like sinking pellets these types of food have very high protein content and will fatten your Clowns up nicely.

Its the weights that you get round the bottom of plants when you buy them.

Thought it was lead -_-

It is for aquariums and you buy it in rolls.

Its not lead its a combination of zinc/magnesium metals and is completely safe to fish and plants.

I just want to add that you dont want veggies rotting in your tank. By all means feed them, because the fish love them, but just make sure after a few minutes when the fish seem to have had there fill to take out all uneaten pieces. Vegetables rot very quickly under water. :)

Mine will only eat frozen bloodworms and cockles and the middle bits of cucumber.

They turn their cute little noses up at anything else - even SNAILS!

And I've tried every sort of food suggested : algae wafers, sinking pellets, flakes.

BTW - I usually hold the cucumber down with a small pebble!
The cat fish I have to keep on top of the algae thinks it's Christmas and now loves to eat EVERYTHING - except algae!
