If i have a 65 gallon tank stocked with a rainbow shark, two big angel fish, 4 dwarf gouramis and a bristelnosed catfish what 2 too 4 inch shoaling fish would work well in that tank?
I wanted green tiger barbs but they sound like a bad idea and i cant have anything to small because the angels bite them.

Thanks

What about Pentazona barbs like tiger barbs so your angels may not be likely to go for them and there not known to fin nip like the other barbs, so your angels fins will be intact.

I like the look of them :) Havnt seen them in my local aquarium but i'll keep a look out. Would they be ok or are all barbs a no no with the angels and gouramis?

Pentazona Barbs are one of the most peaceful fish in the hobby and would work extremely well with Angels and Gouramies. Rhomboocellatus barbs are also very peaceful and not dissimilar to Pentazona Barbs in appearance.
Also, keep an eye out for Checkered barbs, not overly colourful but a beautiful little fish in its own right.

Maidenhead aquatics stock them near me not too sure if the stock is similar all over the UK. Give the closest one a ring or ask your lfs if they can get any.

I love the look of the Rhomboocellatus barbs to, my local only ever seems to have tigers and green tigers

If i cant find any of the nice barbs is there any other type i should be on the look out for? (dont have to be barbs)

Thenks for the replies

Harlequin Rasbora not too sure if your angels will try eat them someone with more experience might be able to help you.

How about these:

Neon Dwarf Rainbow
Black Phantom Tetra
Scissortail Rasbora
X-Ray Tetra
Celebes Rainbow

Just thought of another Emperor Tetra

x-ray tetra
cardinal tetra
rummynose tetra

pretty much most fish that are not too small and torpedo shaped with the exception of rummynose and cardinal tetra as they get slightly bigger for an angel snack.... i keep both with discus with no issues at all

Thanks stang1, some nice fish there, some might be abit small for my angels but i will definetly look out for the Celebes Rainbows! :)

X-Ray Tetras and Black Phantom Tetras will be fine rovided you buy them at a decent enough size. Angels and Gouramies tend to go for more slim bodied fish, so aim for something that is fuller bodied and hits about 5cm in length.
It'd also be woth asking your LFS if they can order fish in for you, most shops are happy to do this. That way, you'll end up with fish you really like instead of making do with what's on offer. ;)

I would get cardinal tetras in a second but would the angels be ok with them because they have nipped some inch long neons before and its made me nervous about tetras?

black ruby barb?
