What Plant Is This?

It came with the aquarium, and it was the only real plant, the rest are plastic (I'll probably throw those away or something).

Also, it seems to be injured. There are little brown areas on the leaves. How would you fix this? It's currently in a bucket with water, fluorescent light (120 volt, 19 watt, 60hz), and a little bubble wall to provide aeration.

Holy crap, I took the plant out this morning and the roots are sticking out. It wasn't like this yesterday . Do I need sand? I've got gravel.

btw. that aeration tube will eventuall clog thats the worst kind to have.. trust me i know from experience.. wated plenty of money on them...

You can't plant it in substrate. You need to tie it onto a rock or piece of wood with string; it'll attach onto it in time.
