in my 39UK gal i have 4 platies, 2 angels, 3 peppered corys, 3 bolivian rams and 2 plecos.
what i want to know is, is there a fish i could have that grows around 5-6 inches and looks really cool and is a top dweller?

thanx in advance :good:

If you move out the plecs you could have a shoal of rainbows but you are fully stocked at the moment.

Hi

I have a pearl gourami in my tank.

Always around the top and has great colours one of my favourite fish!

Hope this helps!

Sam

the red spotted copeina stays in the upper and middleparts of a tank.

so does: schreitmulers metynnis (which eats plants)

also maybe a giant gourami...

what about a severum? maybe it would be to ever stoaked then but they can live in a 39 g by themself i actualy have mine in with 3 tiger barbs a convict and a pleco in a 45 g

I don't know.... I've never had much luck with gouramis myself, but truly love my golden wonder killi. Beeeeautiful brightly coloured fish. Strictly a top dweller. Bit alligator-like actually. :D lurk just below the surface with their big flat heads..

Can't have smaller fish as they can be ravenously predatory, but mine is currently in with platies, rams, danios, and no problems.

also maybe a giant gourami...

do you have any idea how big they grow?!? they get huuuuge!!

given there perfect tank they can grow to 28"

not a good suggestion for any tank.

the pearl gourmai could fight with the angels, mine did anyway so that could be risky 2.

I'm glad you pointed out this fact as i was just about to myself.

A friend of mine has a giant gourami in his tank amongst other things but he does have a 6/7FT tank. that's about the size your would have to be to house one.

His tank holds 241 gallons and is filtered by four filters including a pond filter.

Good luck in finding a decent fish though mate. Just not a giant whatever you do.

I found my figure eight puffers stayed around the top constantly though they are predators.

Cheers,

I would agree that the angels will grow to about the size you want (5 to 6 inches) Don't buy anything else and give the fish you have the time to grow to their full potential, otherwise you may find yourself having a very crowded tank.
