What kind of snail did I discover in my tank? Pond snail or something else?

Yep. Either smoosh it or get used to it. Some pond snails (such as the ones in my 150g 
) will eat holes in your plants, but other than that they don't hurt anything unless you're overfeeding and they get out of control.
