What kind of algae is this?

BGA is slimy and you can siphon it out in big sheets

When I say "slimy" I mean like actual slime. Of course algae is slimy but the stuff in that photo looks like slime from a school project lol

A simple Google search will show you hundreds of photos of it...it can even be red in some cases

So it held together really well. Kinda like a blanket. And it did smell swampy so it does sound like a form of blue green algae
