My friend gave me this plant about 4 days ago, I’m just wondering what it is?

The one circled in red is the plant in question, the one circled in purple is a “Lacy” Java Fern.

Thank you for your time! :)

It's not water sprite. It looks like one of those awful marsh plants sold as aquarium plants, but they do better in a pot on the window sill :)

So could I keep it in my tank? Or should I remove it? Is it bad for my tank? :)

There are lots of marsh plants that adapt to living underwater, Anubias, Hygrophillas, Amazon Sword plants, Alternanthera are all marsh plants regularly kept in aquariums. If the leaves turn brown and mushy then throw it out, otherwise just leave it there and see how it goes.

(My friend gives me a lot of plants, I just wasn’t sure. Thank you for clearing that up!) :)
