My gourami has a sort of grey stringy thing protruding from his gill, and a small white, furry thing on the same gill cover, I am treating for ick, and the treatment I'm using also affect fungus, but I don't know what this could be...

The grey thing is probably a Gill Fluke parasite. Any simple parasite medication should work, but the one I used was Jungle Parasite-Clear. I'm not sure about the fuzzy stuff, maybe just ick?

You haven't been feeding brine shrimp have you? I had a moment of panic once when I saw something similar hanging out of my cory's gill...it was just leftovers in the end. Maybe he was saving it for later!

Otherwise yeah it's a parasite. You'll need to finish one round of medications and remove it before you start another.
