I have life in my fish tank! No idea how i spotted this little fella.

I think he is some sort of water flea? It is the only one i have seen so far, but its not often that i sit looking for very tiny tiny things lol

I had to put my finger next to it because it was like looking for a needle in a haystack through the camera lens lol

And what is this stuff? It is on the sides of my tank (biorb) and on the air tube in the centre. Its tiny and clear and flaps around in the water flow. Im thinking a sort of algae?

The first one looks like triops completely harmless and the second one possibly hydra, again shouldn't be a problem.

First one is a copepod species, probably a Cyclops spp. Harmless, fish eat them.

Second one is a colony of Carchesium sp. - harmless protozoans that filter feed together :). Again, fish usually eat these.

I had seen the first one around before, but not the second.

Im going to do some more reading up about the second. I only noticed them today on the air tube and was trying my damned hardest to get a picture of them, then a few hours later realised they were on the walls of the tank aswell, LOL!

I am intrigued

The world at a smaller scale is so much more interesting

I agree! The real world is just so interesting! Always amazes me more people don't just take more time getting entertained by it! WD
