Howdy from Houston, recently bought what a local shop had labeled as flowerhorn.. however I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t a Texas cichlids. According to google lens .. it’s a Texan but.. figured I would ask some other folks.

For some reason can’t edit.. meant cichlid not cichlids lol

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

It looks like a juvenile Texas cichlid with a bit of damage to the dorsal (top) fin. the damaged fin should heal up without too many problems. Just do regular water changes and feed a varied diet and it should be fine.

Thank you , yeah I’m thinking a Texan also due to the attitude. At 2 1/2 inches he has no fear of my hand or anything else in the tank. I think he will be a bully. He is currently hanging out with two blood parrots and an electric blue and fears none of em lol. Thanks for the welcome.
