ive got a 9ftX3ftX32inch lXwXh

and ill be going with a 4ftX30inchX24inch sump the tank is drilled with 3 42mm pipes so what flow do i need

Flow through the sump should be 3-5 times the volume of the display tank. Flow in the display tank should be about 20 times the volume.

Your tank is just over 2000L. Bearing in mind you probably won't be filling that to the top, I took 4 inches off the height, giving you just over 1800L. 7200LPH going through the sump, 36000LPH in the DP.

sorry dp=??????

also im pretty thick what pump do i need to buy eg one with 1000gphr one with 300 gph

DP = display tank.

You need a pump that will push 7200 LPH at 1m head height, so probably something like a 10000 LPH. A Seio M2600 (2600 GPH) would fit the bill. Due to the length of your tank, you'll be better off with 3 large capacity vibration pumps to ensure good circulation around the live rock if you are going for a FOWLR or reef tank.

The ones pictured are 12'000 LPH and would be ideal for this task.
