What External Filter Could I Get For My 39gal?

looking at my tank the water isnt as clean as i would like, is there a cheap external filter that i could have for it that doesnt cost over £20 but will do the job?

or could i have one of the penguin filters?

If you want perfect water you need an Eheim or a Cascade 1200 like i've got. Crystal clear 24/7. You'll be lucky to get those for anywhere near £20 though.

Try www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk or look on Ebay. They're your best bets. Good luck with it ;)
 
ive got a second hand fluval 4 for sale if you want to buy one. (internal filter)

Just replaced the fluval 4 from my tank with a eheim ecco 2232 (external) that was £50.00.
 
Not familiar with the internal Fluval filters but from what I can see they're rated for a 57 gallon aquarium? Do you run carbon, or equivelant, in it? Overfeeding can be a big factor in cloudy water as well.

I do run penquins on my 10 gallons and 20 gallon and have crystal clear water but I do use Purigen and feed sparingly.
