I personally buy Hikari products, but I was just interested to see what the majority of people buy for their fish. Do you buy expensive brands, or just stick to the bog standard tropical foods?

If you want me to add another choice to the poll just let me know.

I use Tetra Pro Crisps, Sera Granured and Ocean Nutrition Spirulina for my African Cichlids. For the Synodontis Catfish I use Sera Catfish Chips

I've ticked 3 - Tetra, nutrafin & hikari has i use all of these,i tend to go for brand makes rather the 'bog standard' makes :)

I rate it a bit like heinz beans or super saver beans, heinz wins  so why not let fish have the best :good:

That's exactly the way I see it. Spending an extra few pounds on better food doesn't hurt my pocket, but ensures my fish are getting the best.
I recently bought 6 Galaxy Rasboras/Celestial Pearl Danios, with the intention of breeding. I hope they like Hikari micro pellets and micro wafers (Y)

Tetra Prima (check out Ebay for some great bulk deals, 3Kg for ~£60 delivered recently); Hikari algae wafer; Hikari Cichlid Gold small floating pellets and Nutrafin flake (apparently great for fish that like sifting the san like my Weather Loaches and Hog-nosed Brichis) make the staple diet of my fish.

I have 300g of it and its not really suitable for my fish :-l not be worth much i reckon to go to the hassell of trying to sell it. Its Tetra Primer Discus unopened :-l

I buy tetra and nutrafin cause those are the mayor brands i can find here, but i have seen aqueon food and have been reading good reviews about this.

It seems so far that Tetra is very popular. Is this just normal Tetra Tetramin flakes, or more specialised foods?

Normally tetra prima, with algae or catfish tablets for my cory's etc. I have used Hikari first bites to bring fry on, and also Hikari algae tabs too. The fish don't seem to respond to other foods well, and even though the tub's more expensive, because there's more in it Tetra Prima actually works out cheaper.

Same here tetramin prima granules & mini granules, tetramin flakes, tetramin baby, hikari first bites , sinking wafers & mini granules. Nutrafin granules are to name but a few i use regularly :)

Ocean nutrition and New life Spectrum get my votes. Tetra makes good product as does Hikari.
I like the protein levels of Ocean nutrition which can be as much as 56 percent compared to 35 to 45 percent of many of the others.
When raising young fishes,,the extra protein seems to help with a bit quicker growth.
Most of the frozen foods I offer are Hikari for vitamin content.
