:D i have 15us gallon tank and my current fishy friends are 3 platys and 2 corys i wanted to add some more fish could anybody advise me what type of fish will be ok and how many more fish can i get dont want to overstock fishes home thanks.

The choices you have are endless!

A small list of toughies for you:

1. White Cloud Mountain Minnows
2. Zebra Danios (tank might be too small though)
3. Glow Light Tetras
4. Cardinal Tetras
5. Guppies
6. Mollies
7. Cories

If i were you, i'd add another coupla' cories. Is you tank cycled yet? If not, dont add anything. If yes, add cories, and check the guys in my list. They are all tough, and interesting too!

Hmmm

Maybe another couple of corys, of a different kind perhaps. I think that they are happier in a little group and will be more active. How about some tetra as well, maybe cardinals. I like cardinals, they are very bright but are bigger than neons.

:D thanks for replys tank is cycled had for 10 weeks cycled after 5weeks i cant keep any cardinals had 8 all died dont want any more i was wondering if dwarf or honey gouramis would be ok and a couple of black mollies

i would add a dwarf gourami or mabe an opalin gourami i have 1 and i love her.

Yeah, but make sure you know what kind of plec it is or you get end up with a huge plec in a few months!!

If you don't already know plec species, look at Planet Catfish's cat-eLog. I find, that the ones who stay smaller are more expensive than the ones that get big. It's worth it though unless you want to rehouse that 12"+ common plec that was so cute at 2"!!

Should you add more than one gourami?

Personally, I'd have to say "probably not". Here's why:

Dwarf gouramis, in my experience, are semi-aggressive (although probably less aggressive than other gouramis). In addition, it's often difficult to distinguish between males and females. Chances are, what you'll find in pet shops are males, because they're more brightly colored. With males, having two just doesn't work, in my experience. I'd suggest having one, or at least four. And I think four would be too many for a tank of your size.

Fish are individuals, of course, so it may work. But in my expereince, two males doesn't work at all. Three doesn't work so well, either.

Well, in my experience...

2 dwarf gouramis are fine, male or not. Mine are 2 males, and they actually swim together, no nipping or watever. But im interested to know, why does 4 work better?
