Hi all,
I set up my tank a few weeks ago, i used the fishless cycle. All parameters are now fine and the plants look good, and i'm now ready for my first fish. But i think i have a problem? My gravel is black and the background is black, i can see lots of tiny white flecks, which appear to be moving(i'm sure its not due to spray bar making them move)Can any one through some light on what these are? I don't want to add fish and the fish suffer.
Thanks for reading.

Some sort of copepod most likely - they won't last long when you add fish as they'll get scoffed.

They probably hitchhiked in on your plants. Totally harmless.

If the specs are tiny and seem to skip across the glass and substrate then definitely copepods or similar inverts.

Hi, i cannot get the pic uploaded from my blackberry, but it just shows very tiny white flecks. But i'm happy to leave alone and let my first fish have a feast on them. Thank you both for quick response. Now to buy my first fish.
