What are these attached to my filter?

Have been away for a week with my mother feeding my fish once a day. Got back and noticed these white egg like things on my filter, they are no where else in my tank, just here.

I have 2 electric blue rams, an angel fish and 2 BN plecos which were all introdiced 3 weeks ago at the same time to a newly cycled tank. I have bogwood and no live plants. Haven't introduced any snails to my tank either.

They are fed flake once in the morning, and algae pellets in the evening for the bn's.

I do 50/60% changes once a week.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

They look like fish eggs, either from the angelfish or the rams.

Which fish are hanging around the filter guarding it?

The angelfish seems to be around it a fair bit. I only have it in my tank as it outgrew my gf's tank which was half the size of mine. Wouldn't of chose to house these fish together due to different needs.

We thought the angelfish was male [emoji849]

rams, angels and bristlenose all come from the same area and get along fine as long as there is room for the angels to grow.

That’s a lot of eggs and the majority looked fertilized. If the Angelfish is alone, they must belong to the rams. The clear eggs are viable eggs. The white ones are not.

I was thinking that as I didn't think a single angelfish would spawn without a mate.

And the amount of eggs from two fairly young rams, is that possible?

It was only my angel fish that was interested in the eggs, the 2 rams were swimming around the tank as usual. The angelfish was still looking at where the eggs were after I cleaned the filter off.

That is too many eggs for a pr of rams and rams usually lay their eggs on a horizontal surface near the substrate, whereas angels and discus like to lay their eggs on the wall or something vertical.

Why did you clean the eggs off for?
Your poor little girl is in breeding condition and needs a man.

Thought as much. Was a surprise to come home to all those on their anyway.

My tank isn't big enough for one Angel, I only have her because her previous tank was less than half the size of mine and it took a lot of talking to persuade for it to be given to me let alone anywhere else. It wouldn't be fair to add another as my tank is 31.5" x 14" x 18" (L x W x H) at 125L.

It's time you let MTS take over then. Come to the dark side. Join us. Buy a bigger tank. get another one, and another, and another, and another, and another. Bwah ha ha haaaaa.

For those that don't know what MTS is, it's multiple tank syndrome

You wimp. I use to do 40 tanks in half a day at home and 100 tanks per day at the shop where I was serving customers too. You just need to organise better and use a giant gravel cleaner :)

Yep! I am a Wimp. No doubt about that...and getting old too! Lol:drink:
