I am getting fed up having to re plant my plants every other day as my fish between them keep digging them up has anyone got any ideas on how to prevent this?

Option A) Remove the plants
Option B) Remove the fish
Option C) Take away the fish's shovels

Of course there may also be more options available from more knowledgable members :)

What kind of plants do you have?

Some plants as they grow send out roots further up the stem, if you have any plants that do this - I have planted mine lengthways in the substrate with just the leaves sticking above ground level. This way , many small plantletts started growing and had a good anchor to hold them in place while theier big roots grew.

If you have small rooted plants, how about attaching them to wood, or a large pebble and then planting the pebble under your substrate.

try rossette plants (rather than stem) as they have larger roots therefore stay in much better. Other plants yu can have are mosses and rhizome plants (like anubias, java fern etc.

try putting small stones around the plant like boulders so he cant get to the stem
