Hi

I'm on day 2 of cycling. Added AquaCare Tap Water Conditioner and AquaCare BioBoost as per instructions since day 1. Wood boiled for hours and soaked for days. Sand and rocks washed.

Today is Day 2 and part of sand are turning yellow and wood covered in "fog"

Help! Is this ok? Is this part of the process.

Don't worry about this. It's just a bacteria bloom. This is totally normal and it will not hurt your cycle.

And that happens a lot of time to wood, even on established tanks.

It isn't bad for fish, but you can take it out and rinse it off if you'd like.

I'd do just that. It'd bother me.

Thank you so much.

Is this the same reason that the substrate is turning yellow in places?

Is that better?

Odd. Hopefully someone knows what's going on

Yeah, I can't explain that after only 2 days.
Next time you do a water change, try to gravel vac it.

Im cycling a tank at the moment too and i think i may have the same issue. I have no idea what it is and it seems to come back no matter how many times i take it out or do water changes. Would love someone to explain what it is.
