The colours on these two are amazing. This is their second spawn and they're great parents.

Oh wow those two are utterly stunning!!!!!!!! drooling on my keyboard!!

Very nice.
I have just gotten one from Wildwoods.

I was under the impression that the male gets a bigger neuchal hump?

How aggressive are they when not breeding?

Can I tag on another question - better in pairs or ok as a single fish?
Cheers

Thanks guys. They're not aggressive at all and they're fine as a single fish. These two are still young so no nuchal hump yet but yes males do get them :good:

I have seen some photos of males that look really monstrous! :alien:

Do you have them in a tank on their own?
Have you had them in a larger cichlid community?

They were in a mixed tank with sevs and geos but they're on their own at the minute. Once they've raised this spawn they'll be going back into a mixed cichlid tank

How big is your tank?
How many Sevs do you have?
Do you move thesse if they try and breed??

The first time they spawned they were in a 6x2x2 with a breeding pair of heros severus and 9 wavrini and they held onto 15 fry for around 10 days untill we removed the fry and that was their first spawn. But we were doing a bit of reshuffle in the tanks and they were put into a 3ft tank to hold them for what we thought was going to be a couple of days but they spawned in it and have been there with their fry ever since and that was maybe two weeks ago. The colour of these two is amazing compared to two females we have in a different tank and have always shown better colour from no size.
When with their first spawn the heros also had fry and the chocs defended their fry but not with mad aggression, but these guys are only small so thats why we thought we should get them in a tank based more around them as with size comes more power and we dont need to loose anybody through our stupity of tank mates.
