My cherry barb looks very ill. First she bloated up like a beach ball, the bloat has gone down a little bit down but she has 2 wolly white marks on her side and rapid gill movement.

Is there anything I can do for her? Or just put her out of her misery?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What do you feed the fish.

Are scales sticking out.
What does it look like when she goes to the toilet.
Can she maintain balance in the water.
The white marks do they look fluffy like cotton wool.
Is there enough aeration in the tank.

Wow she is bloated.
Do the white marks look like cotton wool.

Can you answer some of the questions I have asked.

Issolate and add some epson salts. One teaspoon to a gal.
Internal bacteria med.

Do you have a male in with her? Just quessing but if she was bloated now gone down a bit there is a possibility she has laid eggs and the marks on her side are from the male. I cant tell from the photo.

Yes there is 1 male and 6 females

Your tank looks overstocked to me.

Dropsy and columnaris the fish is showing signs of.
Once scales stick out last stage or dropsy, organ failure.

Need to improve the fish diet with frozen foods and veg.
For now feed some shelled peas.
Long stringy white poo can indicate constipation, bacterial infection, internal parasites.

I feed them live sea monkeys once a week and frozen blood worms once a week as a treat.

Should I euthanize the cherry barb?

It's not looking good. It's up to you.
If you can't issolate the sick fish it might be best to end it's misery.

Water changes on main tank over the next few days,.

I've got no where to isolate her. I've guess it's got no chance of getting better? I put interpet general tonic in 1 week ago when she was first showing signs of bloat and white poo.

Is almost frozen water the best way to kill it quick?

Once scales stick out fish rarely make it.

Yes freezing water will end a fish life.
It won't take long. Leave the fish awhile to make sure it's passed away.make sure gills are no long moving.

So sad bless her.

Just saw her other side got all red blood coloured dots. Caught her in the net ready for the ice water and shes really trying to swim hard out of the net

Red coloured dots can be septicemia to parasites.
If no signs of flicking and rubbing I would say septicemia.

Septicemia can happen with dropsy and columnaris.

Bless her.
She sounds to far gone to save. Poor thing.

i've killed her  took her about 5 seconds to die in the ice water  I feel so sad, stressed and shocked

I know how you feel it's not nice even when there on there last legs you still feel guilty.

R.I.P.
