A couple of things with Fly traps.
Don't feed them
Make sure the water has a near zero mineral content.
Make sure they are in a place where the humidity is above 50%
Keep them moist but not damp

My Venus flytrap, I can't guess how many years I have had it. It is winter here at the moment, so it is not growing big traps.
