In some situations I may need to add aquarium salt to my tank, such as when treating disease or when settling down need fauna.

I would like to know what concentration of salt Vallisneria spiralis is able to survive? Also, how graduated must the increase/decrease of salt be?

Most aquarium plants (including Vallis) can tolerate 2 heaped tablespoons of salt (sodium chloride) per 20 litres of water.

I usually just add the whole lot of dry salt to the tank in one hit but most people dissolve the salt in a couple of litres of water and add it over a period of time (30-60 minutes).
