Uvc-light

Has anyone built a UVC-strerilizer? And if has... Where did you buy UVC-lamps and what brand (philips?)?

I have been wondering, do i buy some apparatus (which are real expensive) or do i build one... It's not so difficult to build UVC-sterilizer, but i haven't found any UVC-lamps

I have UV on my Rio 180 (tropical) great for controlling water algae and infections. No problems in the tank. I had a couple of dwarf gourami that developed ulcers from three weeks after purchase - I figure stress - but nothing has 'spread' around the community.



I would bite the bullet an buy one. Building one so that you can easily change the bulb could be a pain!

:what: Built many aquatic things mrV, but I wouldn't try a uvC. You could trawl the net for diy stuff but I doubt if there's anything about these lamps. Mac.
