I have a 30 gallon cold water tank with 14 Rosey Reds and 1 Weather Loach in it. I have an empty 55 gallon that is eating a hole in my brain, just sitting there. So I decided I will upgrad the cold water tank to the 55 gallon.
I was wondering what options do I have for sotcking a 55 gallon cold water tank, along with what I already have. I was thinking of at least going with 14 Rosey Reds, 3 Weather Loaches, and perhaps a larger school of WCMM. But I'd like to get more so an odd ball fish for the tank. I'd like a High Fin Banded Shark, but they get pretty big. Has anyone ever kept Bitterlings?

I thought of American Flag fish, I have kept them in the past. I think I would have an easier time getting a hold of the Flag fish versus the Bitterlings, as we don't get much " rare " fish around here.

I'm almost completely a trop guy except for the occasional goldfish in the past and the time I tried to keep a tank of pond minnows when I was young, lol! Good luck with it - its interesting to hear about.

I got some beach sand for the substrate for the tank afterwards. I have used the local beach sand before in a 20 gallon community tank and a 30 gallon with Brichardi in it. So I figured the dark sand would make the Rosey Reds even brighter. I just have the sand in there now, but I plan to move the fish over in a couple of weeks.
