After a series of not-so-back-to-back water changes, the 75 gallon tank now has an ammonia level of 4ppm. Do I just wait for it to cycle out? It's not been doing *anything* for forever.... actually, it's never done anything....
my ammonia was so high the test was reading teal rather than any shade of green. i was told i needed to get it back down to 4ppm and just wait....... and yeah, it's a fishless cycle.
I have never heard of that. If its fishless it does not matter how high it goes. I would have just cut back on the amonia.
I hate the wait time. I know what it feels like you want fish in there damn it! But it will be better in the long run. While you wait look into fish you want and rearange the deco 2 a day! Its what I did with my first tank.
well, 'im moving stuff around just about daily coz i'm bored (plants and air stones).... but i waited a week and the ammonia wasn't moving- so someone told me to take a lil water out and see if that helped.... i had to do it twice before it was not crazy high. mebbe now it'll work. i REALLY want fish! i pretty much know what i'm going to put in there already though.
