Anyone have a story? I have to say, aliens & UFOs interest me more than ghosts. :good:
I actually don't have any stories, but when I finish high school, I'm going with my friend to Mexico to hopefully catch some UFOs on film.

i was driving down the m4 in england about 15 years ago and saw a strange set of lights hovering above the moterway( this was about 8 oclock at night in november, so fairly busy) litraly the whole moterway came to a standstill and after a minuite or so the light just shot off... i mean fast like shooting star fast!! :dunno:

weird hey :alien:

I once saw something that I thought at the time I thought had to be some UFO, but actually turned out (to me) to be more interesting :) Basically, always enjoyed looking up to the sky at night, trying to learn constillations / star names etc. Always love it when a satelite zooms past too, can't explain why, but I guess there is some sort of deeper humanity thing going on their
Anyway, one night I am looking up, and I spot a satilite. No major big deal (but nice anyway) i thought, just another pin prick of light silently gliding across the night sky. However, as quickly as I saw the first light, two more lights closely followed! Now I was a little bit confused. To make things more mysterious, the three 'dots' formed a very purposeful, tight triangular formation with the first leader and the latter two straddling behind!
So basically for the rest fo the night I am trawling the net for this mysterious formation of lights and found nothing. in the end I emailed someone from a site specialising in this stuff and he finally suggested that what I had seen were indeed satilites, but at the time had only just been de-classified by the US government! They are apparently used to track ships at sea (by the US navy) and the reason there are three is because they use triangulation to determine ships position.
I found this particularily interesting, because on one site I read there are big UFO stories that mention three and two light formations going back to the 70s that have never been explained, and hence put down to extra-terrestrial visitors. Now, the fact these things were lauched back in the 70's I guess means they might be responsible for a fair few sightings!

As for anything extra-terrestrial, I dunno. For a moment I truly convinced myself that I had seen craft from another world, or at least some sort of top secret military project. Alas, with a bit of digging, I found a reasonable explanation, which in my opinion was just as interesting!

The only thing I struggle with E.T. craft is if they have the technology to travel so far, I am sure they have the tech. to remain elusive to us mere primatives? I would think there would be far more in it for them to study us from afar or intervene more directly than play games that only result in a little debate? Hmm not sure really.

Like ghosts / afterlife and all that, I really want, almost need to believe, but I simply can't until I see some damning evidence to the contrary.

Sorry if I sound like a party pooper :(

olly.

Heres a picture that you might find interesting, my sister took this photo of a sunset while walking the dog.. and only realized until she got home what she had taken a photo of..

Wow. That's so cool! :) I am far more interested in UFO's than I am in ghosts, though they are both interesting... I am a little surprised I have never seen a UFO though...

Certainly interesting. I have seen pics like that passed off as clouds and other atmospheric stuff so can't rule out a lonely cloud or somthing like a piece of dust. It obviously wasn't traveling fast at the shutter speed the piccy was taken at. I can't explain though. If you are open to a scientific explanation why not post the picture here?
It is amazing how different pictures can look between taking the shot and viewing the finished result though. One of the things I am working on with my photog skills!

Personally I dont think we'll see alien craft just turn up some day. Hopefully one day we'll recieve evidence from the various listening devices dotted around the planet. Or maybe there is a satellite or two out there sent from another planet.

It would have to come froma life form massively more advanced than us though, if we're to see it in our life time
Voyager one and two were launched by NASA in the 1970's and they're just leaving our solar system.

Voyager 2 is not headed toward any particular star. It will pass by star Sirius, currently 2.6 parsecs distant[10][11] and moving diagonally towards the Sun, at a distance of 1.32 parsecs (4.3 ly, 25 trillion mi) in about 296,000 years

300,000 years! If theres life on a planet revolving around that sun, they might be able to observe it. If their technology is similar to ours then it'll take another 300,000 years for them to return it :D

as yet, we dont even have the tech, to confirm life on earth (from space) so the chances of one of our probes "observing" life, on an Exo Sol planet, are zero. ( though the last survay "suggests" the "possibility" of life here. lol). its a nice idea though.

if we were going to be visited, we would have been by now. Universe, 13.5 billion years old. earth 4-4.5 billion years old. earth developed life, around 1 billion (bit less actually) years after the sun came into being. the only "intelegent life (we know of) evolved, around, 3.9-4.4 billion years after the earth formed. the math says there was plenty of time, for other suns and planetary systems to have developed, and past into history, billions of years before our planet existed. so, unless this Galaxy is run by the "United Federation of Planets" (no contact till FTL flight is achieved), the chances of being visited, now, are less than the chances of there being a exact duplicate of earth, out there, somewhere.

even though i say this. i still, personally, dream of the day.

Can you do me a favour and stop quoting me then writing a response that has nothing to do with what I wrote to begin with? Thanks.

UFO's also seem more plausible to me than ghosts or the like, I personally believe that there is intelligent life out there. I havn't had any personal UFO experiences, wish I had, maybe some day if I'm lucky enough (though no probing please...)

If their technology is similar to ours.

nothing to do with your post?
and NO, i will continue to post as i always have done. i suggest you deal with it. you never know, you may learn something. but....... maybe not :hyper:

So you're telling me that, if an alien satellite (assume its built from similar materials as our own Voyager satellites) entered our orbit, we would not be able to detect it? LOL. Yeah I'll learn alot from you  BRB correcting my dictionary on the correct spelling of 'survay'

I never said anything about US observing life on another planet via a satellite, just that the two Voyager Satellites might be observed one day from a planet distant from us.

To them, it would be a UFO. If the same thing were to happen to us, then said satelittes/space craft, whatever you want to call them, would've been launched from their home planet thousands, if not millions of years ago.

Which is what I said in my first post.

Hope I havent written too many words for you to take in all at once.

yes that's right. being unaware of that fact, before my comments, means you learned something. :hyper:

add to that the alien probe (if it had our tech) would not be able to tell if there is life on earth in the first place, even more so it it had 1970's tech (as the probes, from earth, you mentioned do).
voyager 1 has no way of finding life. the only realistic way an alien civilisation, would ever notice the probe. would be if voyager were to fly into orbit and make contact. and as it cant, the shear vastness on space, makes it, virtually, impossible for the probes to be noticed. even at 250,000 miles away, there is no sigh that life exsits on earth (actually its only a couple of hundred miles, before signs of life vanish in space). sure the components are visible, but you cant even see any terrestrial light from there. how would any probe, with our type tech, find us?

its good for films, and day dreams. but visits from "ET", even a probe, are, as i said, less likely than earth having an exact double. elsewhere in the galaxy.

but one thing is sure,(well almost) they are out there!

sorry mate, ya must be wrong, boboboy says we dont have the technology yet to detect/monitor satellites in our orbit.
