I have a 5 gallon tank, cycled now for 6 weeks. I have a betta, two tiny Nerite snails, a few Java ferns, an anubius, Silvina, frogbit. I do weekly water changes to vacuum the gravel. My ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are consistently 0 for 6 weeks. Is this ok for my plants? They’re all doing well except the frogbits which are yellowed but still growing. I also have a brown algae problem. It’s not bad just a little unsightly. I have some Algae Fix, should I dose it every 3 days per the bottle or leave it for the snails? I don’t want them to be hungry but also don’t want to see the algae. They don’t seem to be eating it all and there’s a good buildup by the end of the week.

I take it that the algae is blooming on the glass?
I wouldn't use chemicals to treat it. Do it naturally.
It does look unsightly but scrub it off and vacuum it out as you go. Then a vacuum of the substrate to removde any that drops to the bottom or grows on the substrate. Then control the lights.
Oh, and if you have a means of inserting a UV light into the filter it'll be a good help.
