Does anyone know what type of plant/moss this is growing on my spider wood? Seems to have come directly from the dead piece of wood??? Worried that I may have something toxic to the fish.

Thanks!

Do you mean the plant with white tips, or the green one?
If it's the green one, I would say definitely moss, but if it's the other, I have no clue.
There might also be some sort of algae there too.

Yes, the plant with the white tips. Seems to have a sturdy brown base. The green is Java moss, have that in my other tanks, so no worries there.

Ok. What has been newly introduced to the tank? Anything? How long have you had the tank?
I will try to research it, and post anything I find here.

Used a plant app that identified it as Xylariaceae fungus. This fungus is worldwide and parasitizes wood. I removed the spider wood from tank to be safe. It has been in the tank around 2-3 months.

Good idea. It's a shame you had to remove it though.
