as per title what are betta splendens true biotope companions? thanks x

Bettas originate from South East Asia, and are a Blackwater fish. So true Biotope companions would include fish such as:

Gouramis
Rasboras
Loaches
Barbs
Danios

Ok, got it. I wouldn't put more than 10 in there, as they can get a little boisterous if they don't have space to move around. Nice easy fish to keep. They will like mild warmth around 22-24C

ok thanks. would u mind answering my other post, il copy and paste here, here put in TD but had no replies.

I have bought a 21L tank, came with aqua flow 1 200lph, am I right in thinking I will be instantly cycled if I add my mature filter media to the new filter?

have filled the tank with fresh dechlorinated water using prime, squashed my gross filter floss from mature tank in to new filter and added some api quick start. can I add fish?

have put sand sub, driftwood with anubias attached and planted vallis at the back.

If your mature filter floss stayed wet in your old tank water then yes. If you took it out and let it dry, or exposed it to clean tap water, then it is likely that the bacteria will have died.

Also, did you mix in the prime in a bucket before adding the water to the tank, or did you mix in the prime after adding tap water to the tank? If you add the prime directly to the tank after you have added tap water, then you will have exposed the filter to the chlorine, etc. and potentially damaged it.

I take it that the driftwood came from your old tank? As this will also help carry the useful bacteria across.

i literally turned the filter off took out media put in new filter, filled tank with already dechlorinated water and turned filter on. was still running until about 5 mins before putting in new filter. didnt wash or let dry. all decor came from my other mature running tank inc sand, plants and wood. x
