So in my 29 g i have a juvenile convict cichlid and a small school of tiger barbs, there were 7(3 juveniles and 4 were fully grown) of them before the convict began killing/eating the small tb’s at some point whenever the lights are off. Also, on one or two of the adult barbs i can tell there has been some fin nipping.Lastly the few barbs that are left seem to be kind of stressed and spend a lot of time hiding which i know is uncharacteristic of them. Im wondering if anyone has any opinions on what i should do? Should i try and increase the size of the school in hopes that the convict feels he cant pick on them if theres so many? or Should i donate the rest of the tb’s to my LFS?

correction: 4 juveniles 3 adults

Remove the Tiger Barbs if you can and leave the Convict Cichlid by himself. If you can't do that you will need to heavily plant the tank to give the Tiger Barbs some protection.
