I think the 2 lights wire elsewhere under the hood to the unit with one plug.

i'm not sure what to do with the lights though, the timer doesn't turn on and i'd like to turn on the aquaglo a bit earlier and off later than the sunglo, does anyone on here have experience in re-wiring the lights, maybe i could wire the lights seperately into the same timer/switch as the air pump?

or should i just replace the timer for £50 and let the lights come on at the same time?

thanks,
adam

i will do a bit of research & come up with a wiring diagram for you. May take a few days as I am away on business for the next few days.

wow, thanks!

when my dad is in this evening, i will ask him to help out, i might be able to take the hood off to have a look at the wiring. I'm sure there is a way to keep the bulbs in the hood, but the wires go out the back of the hood and down to the plug socket rather than into the unit with filter etc in.

I'll let you know what i discover later tonight...
