ok thanks 4 anwsawing but i just need to triops to come in the post ow long will they take

You'll need a light and a heat source (depending on your tank, a decent desk lamp could provide both). You'll need to keep the water between 18-26 degrees C. Baby triops swim towards the light to find food. Speaking of which, need to get some detritus from somewhere (leaf litter, soil from a clean pond or somesuch) to give the baby triops plenty of food -- they eat microorganisms. I'm guessing, though, that they'll probably happily eat yeast (bakers or brewers).

If you want to keep 'em happy, some coral sand as a substrate will give them something to dig around in (and provide calcium for their shells). Oh, and when they get bigger, you can feed them live daphnia (some pet shops sell bags of them) which will keep them very healthy. :)

I think that's all, but I'm sure someone else will be along to pick up on any mistakes I've made. :good: Also, there's a very good website that's full of triops-related information.

One last piece of advice -- in a tank that size, don't fill it until they get slightly larger or they might have trouble finding their food. Hope that's some help.

When they first hatch they are <1mm. One of the only placed you will get pictures of something that small is the triops website Invader Xan provided :).

The gist of it is yes, but it depends on what species of triops you are talking about.
If you are talking about the regular T.longicaudatus that you can buy in kits from toy stores, then yes. But to be safe only if there are no fish under 2", and no fish that could eat the triops.
Triops are rubbish at catching fish, but they are 'hunting' 24/7 so usually catch small sleeping fish.

Not straight away if you live in a town or city (or anywhere next to a road) the leaves could suck up all sorts of bad pollutants. Take some old fish tank/pond/clean puddle water and put it in a jar with the leaves. Then after a few days of leaving the jar in bright sunlight, add the leaves and some(say 250ml) of the water to the triops hatching tank.
Next add 1 litre of whatever water you prefer to use for hatching triops (de-ionized is best for me).
Add some more water every day or tow (but never add more than 50%), but dont keep adding de-ionised water for triops that have already hatched :good:.
