When you have a sick fish and you transfer it to your hospital tank what is the best method to use?

Straight from your catch net or bagged then float on the top to acclimitise to tempreture.

or a better method.

If you have time, you could add a heater to the other tank and get the temps the same so you do not have to stress the fish out by acclimating it to the new temp.

Also, depending on what type of illness it is, you might have to treat the whole tank, just to let you know, I suppose... *shrugs*

Also, never transfer fish in the net, if possible. Net them and transfer them to a container full of water and then move them to another tank.

It depends on how close one tank is to another. If it takes about the same time to put the fish from one tank to another as it would take to put them in a container, put them right in, as long as the temp, pH, hardness, etc. are the same.

If the tanks are further apart where the fish would be out of the water for more than 5 seconds or so, a clean container full of tank water is the best way. This doesn't mean race to the other end of the house with the fish in a net, thinking you can make this mad dash in under 5 seconds.
