I have just been told by my girlfriends sister that now i have painted my hood on my tank the condensation will take toxic elements out of the paint and contaminate the tank as this is what she thinks happened to her tank once is this true ? if this is so..............Oh Bollock !  what can i do ?

yes i think if you coated it with a non toxic varnish to seal that would be ok,

ok ill try that. It wouldn`t hurt to try but might if i dont. So i might aswell thanx

slt is right
I used varnish / stain on my 125 and never had a problem. I have used reg. marine paint for the backs of atnks with no problem. Mainly depends on the quality of the paint.
If you got some good paint that will not run or start to come off if wet. You should be fine. But to be safe I would as slt suggested and varnish or clear coat it to be safe.
