Tonight's Spawning Fish Are........

My keyholes have got their first batch of eggs, you can just see the eggs at the bottom left hand side of the plant pot.

I only took one quick pic as its their first attempt.

was begining to think youd removed all the females from your tanks as it must of been at least a week since you had a spawning hopefully youl get wrigglers , but then you know all too well how it can be the 1st few attempts .

I doubt there will be wrigglers on this occasion, It would be nice. It has been over a week since the Severums last spawned, all the fry have now gone sadly. The week before that was the Krobia (failed attempt), Daemons are about due another go at it this week or next.

Yikes!!! I just took a sneaky peek and the whole of the bottom of the plant pot is covered in eggs!

I think it was both James, the plecs & the loach finished them off when the parents abandoned the brood.

Typical first time spawn, a few white eggs, still lots this morning, but the female has chased the male away now and she is trying to guard the pot on her own.

Sad news on this spawning too, all the eggs are white this morning, no fluff they are just all non fertile.

Oh Lesley Nevermind. Maybe something else will spawn again soon to bring it back up to a positive. Quite likely too, we should take bets!
