We have just discovered 2 teenie tiny plecs in our tank weā€™ve had our Plec a few months now and is the only one! Any ideas? We havenā€™t recently purchased any plants etc that could of been hiding these babies canā€™t get a decent photo

maybe she was already pregnant, have you got any new plants or stuff recently from another tank? so cute!

Plecs don't give birth to fry, they lay eggs and the male fertilises the eggs after they've been laid. The only way any baby plecs could appear is if there were eggs or tiny fry on something you bought.

what im ssaying is if they got a plant or somthing and there is a egg about to hatch but op didnt know

It sounded as though you thought the plec might have been pregnant when it was bought!

But yes, an egg attached to something from a shop tank would be possible - that's how we get pest snails as well. Or even a fry caight up in a plant.
